JAN BELLEKENS

Jan bought his first record at the age of 10 and hasn’t stopped since. His first steps in the media business were in the eighties as a presenter for free radio station FM Bruxel (an alternative / new-wave / punk / rock station).
Later Jan became a music-producer for Belgian national radio (BRT/VRT) as well as for Studio Brussel, Radio Donna and RVI (Radio Vlaanderen Internationaal) radio stations.
For several years he was also a roadie/lighting-engineer for Belgium’s famous Flemish-rock band De Kreuners and was also involved in the production of a number of Belgian TV-programs: Hitquiz, De Drie Wijzen, Het Swingpaleis, De Muziekquiz, Nonkel Pop (a local version of Never Mind The Buzzcocks).
Jan has also worked for several independent production TV houses including Tubbax TV and IDTV, where he worked closely with Zaki (father of the famous Dewaele Brothers/2 Many DJ’s/Soulwax).
Jan has more recently worked for the Belgian multimedia chain/record store Extrazone, until it closed in 2010.
